John Wayne Foster, 83 of Harvel, IL, passed away on March 14, 2023 at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, MO. He was born on April 5, 1939 at the Hillsboro Area Hospital in Hillsboro, IL, the son of Lester Seward Foster and Bessie May (Nee Kraner).

John served in the United States Army from August 15, 1962 until July 6, 1964 where he was stationed near Fairbanks, Alaska at a missile site. He was an active member of the Community of Faith Church in Raymond and farmed with his father. John was also a business partners with Jerry and Donna Wagahoff and Neil Wagahoff in Home Oil.

He is survived by his nieces: Myra Hubbard of Anderson, CA; Lucy Anderberg of Raymond, IL; nephews: Tom Anderberg of Oakland, CA; Stephen Anderberg of Austin, TX; and Peter Anderberg of San Antonio, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Loretta (George) Anderberg and his brother, Joe Foster.

Visitation will be held on March 17, 2023 from 10:00-12:00 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville, IL. Funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Jonathan Wagahoff and Pastor Jim Wagahoff officiating. Interment will follow at Asbury Cemetery.
