Naomi Marie Brown, 46 of Taylorville, passed away at 7:20a.m. on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at Springfield Memorial Hospital.  She was born on July 14, 1976 in Taylorville, the daughter of Douglas M. and Rosemarie (Brown) Kounse.  Naomi enjoyed playing bingo, loved spending time with her family, and her faithful cat, Blondie. 

She is survived by her sister: Mandy Burke (Traviss) of Taylorville; nieces and nephew: Brooke Burke, Traviss Burke, and Cloe Burke; aunts and uncles: Linda Ackerman (Leroy) of Taylorville, Herman Brown (Stephanie) of Langleyville, Karen Miller (Dale) of Nokomis, David Brown (Debbie) of Kershaw, South Carolina, Dave Barber of Springfield, Rhonda Brown of Tovey, and Skeeter Ward of Marston North Carolina; companion: Timothy Christian of Taylorville; several cousins; and caretaker: Patti Delehunt.  She was preceded in death by her parents; brother: Derrick Kounse; infant siblings: Karin, Christopher, and Herman; grandparents: Herman and Marilyn Brown and Dale and Sharon Kounse; aunts and uncles: Barbara and Jim Barringer, Carol Sue Barber, John Brown, Mary Ward, and Patricia Rozplochowski.

Naomi will be cremated, and a graveside service will take place at 3pm on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at the Calvary Cemetery in Pawnee.  McClure Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.  Memories of Naomi, or condolences to her family, may be left online at www.mcclurefuneralhome.com.
