Agnes L. Nagle, 84 of Springfield, formerly of Taylorville, passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2023 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.  She was born on May 27, 1939 in Taylorville, the daughter of Michael A. “Gus” and Margaret G. (Nolan) Nagle.  Agnes retired from St. Vincent Memorial Hospital where she worked for over 40 years as a telephone operator.  She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.   

She is survived by her sisters: Marie Nagle and Theresa Sanford both of Springfield; nephew: Roger Dingman, wife Cristina, of Springfield; and several cousins.  She was preceded in death by her parents. 

A funeral Mass for Agnes will take place at 11:00a.m. on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Taylorville with Fr. Piotr Kosk officiating.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Wednesday in the church and burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.  McClure Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.  Memories of Agnes, or condolences to her family, may be shared online at www.mcclurefuneralhome.com.
