Christopher Hughes, 47 of Taylorville, passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.  He was born on August 4, 1975, in Paducah, Kentucky, the son of Carl and Viveca (Nelson) Hughes.  He worked as a certified auto mechanic at Bob Ridings in Pana.  Chris will be remembered as a hard-working, fun-loving person who was unknowingly, always the center of attention at any gathering through his wonderful sense of humor.  He was a hard-working man and very intuitive, he could learn to do anything just by watching.  He loved fishing, racing, and recently took up learning to cook a wide variety of dishes.   

He is survived by his sons: Trevor Hughes of Princeton, Kentucky, Christian Hughes of Taylorville, and Joseph Hughes of Taylorville; siblings: Tonia Hughes-Stone (Mike) of Junction City, Kansas, Sam Hughes (Laura) of Kincaid, and Seneka Hughes of Taylorville; and several cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.   

Chris will be cremated, and no services are planned at this time.  His family will host a benefit at a later date.
