Denise S. Snapp, 67 of Taylorville, passed away at 2:40p.m. on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at Taylorville Memorial Hospital.  She was born on June 1, 1956 in Madisonville, Kentucky, the daughter of Bob and Loretta (Bumpus) Nelson.  Denise previously worked as a licensed beautician.  She enjoyed collecting porcelain dolls, playing cards, and cooking.  Denise loved spending time with her family, especially on her “girls nights out”.  She adored her family, especially her grandbabies whom she adored, and was always willing to help others no matter what she was going through. 

She is survived by her son: Robbey Snapp (Tracy) of Taylorville; grandchildren: Skylar Snapp, Makalia Snapp (Brandon Watkins), Michael Snapp (Lainey Sides), Bridgette Snapp (Dante Brown), and Holly Snapp; great grandchildren: Troy Smith Jr., Rhett Smith, Blaze Sides, Izabella Sides, Aralynn Sides, Cruz Snapp, Bennette Snapp, Addalynn Brown, and Camrynn Brown; sisters: LaVeta Haddock and Christy Callaway (Mark) both of Owaneco; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her parents; brother: Willie Nelson; sister: Vickie Hughes; previous husband: Mike Snapp; and brother-in-law: Roy Haddock.

Denise will be cremated, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.  Inurnment will be in the Rosedale Cemetery in Dawson Springs, Kentucky.  Memorials may be made to her family.  McClure Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.  Memories of Denise, or condolences to her family, may be shared online at www.mcclurefuneralhome.com.
