Larry Eugene Franz

Larry Eugene Franz, 75 of Mt. Zion, IL, was welcomed Home by the Lord on Sunday, July 23, 2023, surrounded by his family.

Larry was born on May 15, 1948, in Lincoln, IL, to the late Elmer and Ruth. He married the love of his life and best friend, Dee, on November 7, 1998. They spent their life laughing, loving, and trusting God to see them through any obstacle.

For thirty years, Larry owned and operated the White Hen Pantry’s in Decatur, IL. Everyone knew him for not only his hot coffee and having the freshest deli in town, but also for the pride he took in his business and the feather duster he carried in his back pocket. After selling the stores, Larry worked alongside Dee in their Mary Kay business, which brought them so much joy serving consultants and customers!

Larry was a long-time member of First Christian Church in Decatur, IL. He had a very strong relationship with the Lord and trusted him to carry him through even the most treacherous waters. He leaves a legacy of faith with his family and those close to him.

He is survived by his loving wife: Dee; children: Michelle, Brad (Jen), Jamie (Beau), LaRee (Jenny), brothers: Jim (Patty), Steve (Jenny); mother-in-law: Linda Ford; brother-in-law: Bob; eleven grandchildren that will miss their papa dearly, along with many special nieces and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather: Jack Easley; brother: Kenny Franz; sister-in-law: Mary Collier; and brother-in-law: Larry Ford.

A graveside service to celebrate Larry’s life will be held on Friday, July 28, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville, IL. Pastor Tim Revis will be officiating.
