Doris Allen, 98 of Taylorville, IL, passed away on Monday, August 14, 2023, at Taylorville Care Center. She was born on March 21, 1925, in Muskegon, MI, to the late Guy Foster and Vivian (Schieb).

Doris graduated from Taylorville High School in 1943. She married Leland Allen, on March 9, 1943, and they spent seventy happy years together until his passing on March 29, 2013. Doris was a homemaker and took pride in taking care of her family and home. She loved her family dearly.

She is survived by her daughter: Anita (Victor) Mullins of Taylorville, IL; Randy (Joleen) Allen of Chilicothe, IL; grandchildren: Richard (Debbie) Hardas of Nokomis, IL; Julie Sisk of Nokomis, IL; Kris (Bill) Mares of Salisbury, NC; Daniel (Ashley) Allen of Princeville, IL; fifteen great-grandchildren; thirteen great-great-grandchildren; and sister: Sharon Riva of Mt. Zion, IL.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents: Guy and Vivian Foster, husband: Leland Allen, brother: Wayne Foster; and her grandson-in-law: Donald Sisk.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 17, 2023, from 12:00-1:30p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville, IL. A funeral service will begin at 1:30 p.m. with Reverend Kris Mares officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Memorials in Doris’s honor may be made to Shriner’s Children’s Hospital or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
