Bob “All World” Williams, 62, entered eternity peacefully on Friday, October 13, 2023, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.  Bob was born in Rockford, IL on October 31, 1960, to Don and Jean (Pierce) Williams. He was blessed with his sister Tari (Patrick) Butler; brother John Williams; niece Katie Williams; nephew Jack Williams; and Uncle Mike (Louise) Pierce. Bob was preceded in death by his soulmate Renee Yeates and his long-time friend Jeff “Bubba” Bell, along with other loved ones.

He graduated from Taylorville High School in 1978 where he was a member of the boys’ basketball team. He earned his bachelor’s degree at Illinois Wesleyan University where he was a much-loved member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity. Bob worked for the State of Illinois Comptroller’s Office where he was nearing retirement.

Bobby was a walking, talking encyclopedia of college and pro sports. He (mostly) enjoyed watching the Fighting Illini and Chicago Bears.  And he certainly had a unique gift for making those around him laugh. His sharp wit and friendly demeanor earned him much respect and many friends in all areas of his life.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Christian County Animal Shelter or to the Taylorville High School Sports Boosters.
