Bill Herschel Hedgpeth, 91 of Taylorville, formerly of Dallas, Texas, passed away at 5:22a.m. on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at Taylorville Estates.  He was born on March 4, 1932, in Wichita, Kansas, the son of Elbert & Ethellynde (See) Hedgpeth.  He married Maxine Marie Morris on May 30, 1959, in San Antonio, Texas and she preceded him in death on November 19, 2016.  Bill worked as an independent truck driver and had a lifelong love of horses.  He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.  He and Maxine enjoyed traveling together extensively throughout the United States. 

He is survived by his children: Billy H Hedgpeth Jr. (Susan) of Fairview, Texas, and Patti Taglioli of Taylorville; grandchildren: Travis Berger, Maggie Markwell, and Ariann Taglioli; great grandchildren: Kiarra Berger, Adrien Taglioli-Taylor, Hudson Markwell, Abel Taglioli, Amyriah Taglioli, Adaiah Taglioli, and Alec Pinell.  He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son: Randall Hedgpeth, brother: Maurice Hedgpeth, sister: Margaret Hedgpeth, and granddaughter: Jordan Taglioli.
