Je'nice Lynn Pearce

On Friday, November 17, Je’nice Lynn Pearce, age 64, passed away peacefully in her home.

Je’nice was born on May 17, 1959, in Miami, Florida. After middle school, she & her family moved to Chattanooga, TN, the hometown of her father. Her and her two sisters had a delightful childhood creating plays, listening to their mother’s stories, and visiting different cities for their dad’s job. Jenice has always been passionate about traveling and broadening her worldview, in her early twenties she joined the army with her sister Sharon and lived in Germany for several years. After returning to Chattanooga, she met her husband, Ronny Pearce. The two were wed in 1994 and had an enduring marriage of 29 years. Je’nice was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Taylorville for 20 years. She worked in various roles throughout her life but one of her favorite jobs was the home daycare she ran, like her mother before her, where she nurtured many children who will forever be touched by the loving memories, she made with them. Je’nice was a beloved friend, daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and teacher. She will be remembered fondly in the hearts of many. Above all, she loved those in her life very well & her spirit will live on in their hearts.

Je’nice was preceded in death by her parents Bill and Billie Holder, her son JR Pearce, her brother-in-law Dave Godfrey, her father-in-law Ronny Pearce Sr, and her grandmother-in-law Josephine Pearce.

She is survived by her two sisters Sharon Godfrey & Michelle (Allan) Holder, her husband Ronny Pearce, her children Lauren Pearce and Brandon Pearce, her grandchildren Ahmar, Jaela & Anderson Pearce.

A celebration of life will be held at McClure Funeral Home in Taylorville at 2pm on Sunday, December 10.  A visitation will take place from 1pm until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, Je’nice asked that any donations be sent to Team Gleason Foundation at teamgleason.org/donate.
