Herman Earl Amos, 91 of Edinburg passed away on Friday, November 24, 2023 at 7:55 a.m. at his home in rural Edinburg, IL with his family by his side. He was born on August 7, 1932 in Garden City, KS the son of Joe Jasper and Kate Nora (Caldwell) Amos. He married Dorothy Tindell on August 27, 1955 Colorado Springs, CO. His love of his life was his wife and being surrounded by all of his family especially all of his grandbabies. His passion for gardening, farming, and 45 years of his Dry Wall business. 

He is survived by his wife: Dorothy Amos of Edinburg; children: Earl (Debbie) Amos of Edinburg; Glen (Penny) Amos of Edinburg; Nora (Scott) Black of Edinburg; David (Connie) Amos of Kincaid; Karol (Herb) Craig of Edinburg; Wayne (Christy) Amos of Edinburg; Kathy (Lloyd) Watson of Florida; Fifteen Grandchildren, Eighteen Great-Grandchildren, one great-great grandson, sister: Lavona (Chuck) McKinney and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, son: Vernon Amos, 6 brothers, 2 sisters and foster daughter Barb Hawthorne.   

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 from 10:00-12:00 Noon at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville, IL. Funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation starting at 12:00 noon at the funeral home with Pastor Valarie Tarter officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Cemetery in Palmer, IL.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Research Hospital.
