Eileen Tex, 102 of Owaneco, passed away at 5:08p.m. on Monday, December 4, 2023, at Taylorville Care Center.  She was born on June 6, 1921, in Dollville, the daughter of Edward and Alta (Christy) Behl.  She graduated from Owaneco High School in 1938.  On November 22, 1938, she married William Tex in St. Charles, Missouri.  Eileen retired from St. Vincent Memorial Hospital where she worked for many years as a unit clerk.  She was an active member of the Owaneco United Methodist Church.  She enjoyed cooking and especially cherished time spent with those she loved most at family gatherings. 

She is survived by her son: William J. Tex of Springfield; grandchildren: Julie Simmons (Greg), Debbie Bretz (Herman), Brian Coss (Jackie), Greg Lynch (Kelli) and Kendra Jackson; 8 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter: Cinda Coss; and siblings: Carl Behl, Lyle Behl, Beverly Minks, and Helen Montgomery.

The funeral service for Eileen will be held at 11:00a.m. on Friday, December 8, 2023, at the Owaneco United Methodist Church with Rev Jessica Baldyga and Rev. Diwan Tiwade officiating.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the church and burial will be in the Owaneco Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the Owaneco United Methodist Church.  McClure Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.  Memories of Eileen, or condolences to her family, may be shared online at www.mcclurefuneralhome.
