Barry Lynn Worker, 71 of Taylorville, passed away at 7:17a.m. on Monday, December 11, 2023, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.  He was born on March 4, 1952, in Pana, the son of Mervin and Bonnie (Austin) Worker.  Barry was a lifelong musician.  He played in several area bands and will be remembered for the many years he played with the Antics all around central Illinois.  He will also be remembered for his positive, selfless attitude.  Barry had a huge heart, would never stress over the small stuff, and always put his children first. 

He is survived by his companion: Toni Sturgeon of Taylorville; children: Cory Worker of Oregon and Kalyn Worker of New Mexico; grandchildren: Mariah Robinson, Kevais Worker, Rebekah Robinson; Cylas Worker, and Treyton Durham; brothers: Larry Worker and Terry Worker (Linda) both of Pana; several nephews; life-long friend: Rudy Dudra; and his Antics family including: Floyd Short, Randy Tangman, Nathan Short, Tommy Blake and James Ryan.  He was preceded in death by his parents; nephew: Aaron Worker; and brother: Bill Worker.

A memorial service for Barry will take place at 11:00a.m. on Friday, December 15, 2023, at McClure Funeral Home in Taylorville with Gary Swisher officiating.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.  Memorials may be made to the Decatur V.F.W.
