Roger Dale Ingram

Roger Dale Ingram, 72 of Pawnee, IL, passed away on December 14, 2023, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL. He was born on June 10, 1951, in Lynch, KY, the son of Claude and Bonnie (Cornett) Ingram. On July 8, 1994, he married the love of his life, Susan Sassatelli, and she survives.

Following the completion of his bachelor’s degree, Roger worked as a Coal Miner for 24 years. He was an active member of United Mine Workers of America and was also a part of the Mine Rescue Team. He owned and operated Little Dodge City from 1993-2002, then went on to work as an engineer for Marriott until his retirement. Roger enjoyed looking at classic cars and riding his motorcycle. In his free time, he found joy in traveling with his wife, as well as spending time with his family and friends.

Roger is survived by his wife: Susan Ingram; children: Dustin Ingram; Steven Schafer; Melissa (Jason) Arnold; Jennifer (Matt) Kemp; David (Hayley) Schafer; grandchildren: Mackenzie and Miranda Ingram; Layla, Jameson, and Harlow Schafer; Preston and Caden Arnold; Dominik and Anthony Kemp; Brody Schafer; great-grandchildren: Remington and Jameson; mother: Bonnie Ingram; brothers: David (Denise) Ingram; Daniel Ingram; Randy Ingram; along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Claude Ingram, and his brother, Donald Ingram.

Cremation rites have been accorded, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Memorials in Roger’s honor may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
