Cynthia Diane “Sis” Dunaway, 70, of Taylorville, IL,  passed away peacefully on February 13, 2024, at Memorial Hospital in Springfield, IL, after a brave, short battle with pancreatic cancer.  Sis was born June 24, 1953, in Danville, Virginia, the daughter of Robert A. Bingham and Erma Cathleen (Williams) Bingham. She was a life-long resident of Taylorville and a graduate of Taylorville High School, class of 1971. During her career, she was employed by Commonwealth Edison; owner of a commercial cleaning company and retired from working for the State of Illinois.

Sis was an avid traveler, and for many summers she enjoyed weekends spent in her camper at her lake lot on Lake Taylorville. She loved reading, dancing, decorating her home, and especially being with her grandchildren. Sis is remembered by the friends and family she impacted, and she leaves behind cherished memories.

Sis is survived by her loving son, Colby Dunaway of Eugene, Oregon; sisters, Terri France (Mark Stephens) and Betty Sue Cunningham of Taylorville; brothers, Mike Bingham, Randy Bingham and Bobby Bingham of Taylorville; step-daughter, Angie Rogers; grandchildren, Aiden, Payton, Camron, Miriam, Shyla; nieces, Amy Black, Stephanie LeSeure, Lacey Ruggless, Brittany Bingham, Andrea Wicker, Danielle Bingham, Brystal Miller; nephews, Shawn Upchurch, Rick Bingham, Josh Bingham, Steven Wicker, Ryan Bingham; and many cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; step-son Jimmy Lee Rogers; brother, Jeff Bingham; brother-in-law Randy France, and nephew, Bill Rahar, Jr.

The family will receive family and friends at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville from 9:00 to 11:00 am on Monday, February 19, 2024.  The funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 am with Pastor Becky Lembke officiating. Sis chose to be cremated and a memorial service at Oak Hill Cemetery will follow at a later date.
