Sylvia Marie Kemner, 82 of Taylorville, passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, in her home.  She was born on May 25, 1941, in DuQuoin, the daughter of Sylvester O. and Rose Marie (Berger) Dirler.  She married Lawrence Kemner on December 15, 1962, at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Springfield.  Sylvia retired from the Christian County Medical Clinic where she worked as a patient account manager.  She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

She is survived by her husband: Larry Kemner of Taylorville; daughter: Tracey (Charles) Maras of Dawson; brother: Howard (Sharon) Dirler of DuQuoin; nephews: Chad (Meghan) Dirler of DuQuoin and Keith (Rachel) Lanning of Everton, Arkansas; niece: Veronica Lanning of Woodridge; great niece: Londyn Jo Dirler of DuQuoin and Saylor Rose Dirler of DuQuoin; aunts: Eleanor Wilson of Murphysboro; cousins: Jill Wilson of Murphysboro, Jan Eubanks of DuQuoin, Ron Bottomley of Morris, Deb (David) Martin of DuQuoin, and Brad (Margaret) Berger of Noblesville, Indiana; and special friend: Daisy Sims of DuQuoin.

Sylvia will be cremated, and a private burial will be held in Oak Hill Cemetery and a memorial mass will take place at a later date.  Memorials may be made to the Kiwanis Coats for Kids or Loving Arms Pregnancy Center. McClure Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.
