Dawn “Joanna” Tucker, 80 of Taylorville, passed away at 10:24 a.m. on Thursday, February 15, 2024, in her home.  She was born on March 3, 1943, in Springfield, the daughter of George and Joanavard (Thorp) Booker.  She married Ronald D. Tucker on June 16, 1962, in Mt. Auburn.  Joanna retired from Franklin Life Insurance Company where she worked for many years.  Joanna was a talented seamstress and could sew projects of any type from clothes for her kids to wedding dresses. She also made many quilts for Project Linus.  Joanna loved to go camping and was an all-around good friend to anyone she met. 

She is survived by her husband: Ronald Tucker of Taylorville; sons: Dwight Tucker of Taylorville and Roger Tucker of Mechanicsburg; grandchildren: Bailee Tucker, Ben Tucker, and Jake Tucker; great granddaughter: Bella Tucker; brother: Danny Booker of Spokane, Washington; and sister: Alicia Miller of Idaho.

Joanna will be cremated, and a memorial visitation will take place from 5:00p.m. until 7:00p.m. on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at McClure Funeral Home in Taylorville.  McClure Funeral Home and Cremation Services is assisting the family with arrangements.
