Rebecca H. Wright, 73, of Taylorville, IL, passed away on March 8, 2024, at Lewis Memorial Christian Village in Springfield, IL.  She was born July 12, 1950, in Taylorville IL, to the late Rev. Ernest Harbaugh and Lois (Buck) Harbaugh.Surviving are her two beautiful daughters, Elizabeth Huffines of Chatham, Margaret Carlen of Chatham, two loving sons-in-law, Cody Huffines and Matt Carlen and 5 adoring grandchildren, Noah Carlen (7), Hallie Huffines (5), Leah Carlen (4), Eleanor Huffines (3) and Amelia Huffines (1), as well as her sister-in-law, Pam Harbaugh, nieces, Heidi and Hillary and her great nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, Rev. Ernest Harbaugh, mother, Lois (Buck) Harbaugh, step-son, Christopher Wright, husband, Larry Wright, her brother, Haynes Harbaugh and beloved dog, ‘Rocky’. Rebecca was a proud resident of Taylorville, a graduate of Taylorville High School and Illinois State University, and devoted life-long member of the First Presbyterian Church. For 40 years she worked for Taylorville High School as an English teacher and Librarian. She was an avid supporter of theater and the arts and was the long standing Director of THS spring musicals. Rebecca loved being an active member of her church, reading, traveling, and singing. But the thing that brought Rebecca the most joy was spending time with her family and loved ones. As per Rebecca’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and a service will be held Thursday, March 14, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Taylorville, IL.  A visitation will be held Wednesday, March 13, 2024, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville. Memorials in her honor may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Taylorville.
