Martha Kessler, 60 of Taylorville, IL, passed away on May 2, 2024, at her residence. She was born on November 28, 1963, in Hillsboro, IL, to James H. Kessler and Ethel Marshall, and they preceded her in death.

Martha worked in home health care for many years. She was a very caring mother and grandmother and held a special place in her heart for animals. She loved horses and her pets and in her spare time, she enjoyed tending to her flower garden. Martha was also very creative and had a special knack for creating things and loved working on projects. She was a jack of all trades and owned her own construction company in South Carolina. Along with being an avid Chicago Cubs fan, Martha loved to socialize and was a great bartender. She loved spending time with her family and friends and was loved by all who knew her. She is missed dearly.

She is survived by her children, Katina (Jake) Beaty of Ohlman, IL; Joshua Rhodes of South Carolina; grandchildren, Kara and Jakey Beaty; Masen Dilley; Mikey Jr.; Hailey and Camden Rhodes; siblings, Mary Ann Kessler of Witt, IL; Theresa (James) Moore of Irving, IL; Charles A. Kessler of Witt, IL; William (Loretta) Kessler of Irving, IL; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her son, Mikey Rhodes; and three brothers, Donnie, George, and Jim Kessler.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at Sutton Funeral Home in Nokomis, IL. A memorial service will begin at 11:00 a.m.

Memorials in her honor may be made to Christian County Animal Control.
