Mrs. DeeAnna M. Samson, 44, of Taylorville, IL passed from this life at 1:40 A.M. Friday, May 3, 2024, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Taylorville, IL February 17, 1980, the daughter of Larry C. and Rose M. (Wise) Scott.

DeeAnna married Richard “Ricky” Samson on February 26, 2011, in Taylorville, IL.

Mrs. Samson enjoyed country car rides, fishing, camping, riding in the tow truck with her husband, canning, singing and she was a great cook.  She loved the outdoors but especially loved the time she was able to spend with her granddaughter. DeeAnna put up a most courageous fight with cancer. She always had perfect fingernails.  She worked for Powder Keg Outfitters and was the best bartender at the Cork and Keg both in Taylorville, IL.

Surviving are her husband Ricky Samson of Taylorville, IL., 4 sons Keagan Scott of Pawnee, IL., Quinton Mills of Taylorville, IL., Dakota Lloyd Samson and companion Emily Powell of Springfield, IL., Nathan Mills of Taylorville, IL., a bonus daughter Tessa Anderson of Bulpitt, IL., her granddaughter Haven Scott of Taylorville, IL., a sister Angie Leers and companion Lenny Lortie of Taylorville, IL., a brother Larry (wife Tina) Scott, Jr., of Tennessee along with many aunts, uncles and cousins and her favorite dog Bailey.

She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.

Visitation for DeeAnna will be held from 5 to 7 P.M. Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at Masterson Funeral Home in Kincaid.  Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. Wednesday, May 8 at Masterson’s.  Burial will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, Taylorville, IL.
