Susan Jane (Hausladen) Dallstream, 70 of Taylorville, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2024, at Taylorville Care Center.  She was born on January 2, 1954, in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of Victor H. Hausladen and Elinor Harriet (Thompson) Wofford.  Sue grew up in Webster Grove, Missouri, where she worked as a student librarian at the public library.  She married Ronald H. Dallstream on June 1, 1974, in Springfield, Missouri.  Sue graduated from the University of Illinois, Springfield and worked for many years as a librarian at Taylorville High School and the Taylorville Public Library.  She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.  She enjoyed giving back to her community in various ways, including volunteering with Girl Scouts, Meals on Wheels, and supporting the local arts.  She enjoyed baking cookies and sewing crafts.  More than anything she loved her family and especially enjoyed attending the various events her grandchildren participated in. 

She is survived by her husband: Ronald Dallstream of Taylorville; children: Karen Rieken of St. Peters, Missouri, Andrew Dallstream (Kym) of Gurnee, Illinois and Daniel Dallstream of Bloomingdale, Illinois; and grandchildren: Freya Rieken, Aaron Dallstream, and Keira Dallstream.  She was preceded in death by her parents. 

A visitation for Sue will take place from 5:00p.m. until 7:00p.m. on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at McClure Funeral Home in Taylorville.  The graveside service will be held at 11:00a.m. on Friday, May 10 at Oak Grove Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri.  Memorials may be made to the Taylorville Food Pantry, Christian County Animal Control, or Taylorville Public Library.  McClure Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.
