Charles “Charlie” William Beemen, 83, of Springfield, IL, passed away June 6, 2024, at 7:34 p.m., at Springfield Memorial Hospital. He was born March 11, 1941, in Pana, IL, the son of Tony and Lucille (Rogalis) Beemen. He married Judy Olenski. She preceded him in death. Later in life, he married Dorothy Davis on December 5, 2005.
Surviving is his wife, Dorothy Beemen; a brother, Jim (Nola Stillwell) Beemen of Taylorville; a stepdaughter, Lisa (Brett) Wurth of Springfield; a sister-in-law, Sandy Beeman; and his adopted family, Catherine (Max) Montcho Kassa of Springfield, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Judy; and a brother, Terry Beemen.
Charlie served his country in the United States Army and worked for Peabody Energy as a machinist for 32 years. He was a very caring, kind, and gentle man. Later in life, he worked on a farm for Mark Dozier.
The family will receive family and friends at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville, IL, from 9:30-11 a.m. on Friday, June 14, 2024. The funeral service will immediately follow. Burial with military honors will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville, IL following services.
