Helen Louise Bricker, 87 of Taylorville, passed away at 2:01p.m. on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at Springfield Memorial Hospital. She was born on May 12, 1937, in Assumption Township, the daughter of Leo and Sylvia (Logsden) Swiney. She married Howell Keith Bricker on September 21, 1958, in Nokomis, and he preceded her in death on December 5, 2014. Helen managed Taylorville Dry Cleaners for 32 years and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She and her husband were also stained-glass artists, and enjoyed traveling to shows to sell their art. She enjoyed gardening and was an amazing cook. More than anything she was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
She is survived by her children: Roger Bricker (Niki) and Gena Craggs (Kelly) both of Taylorville; grandchildren: Samantha Bricker, Charley Craggs, and Marlee Craggs; siblings: Leo (Kay), Paul (Andi), Janet, and Kathy (Robert); sister-in-law: Teresa; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister: Betty; and brothers: Duane, Marion, and Pete.
Helen will be cremated, and a private family committal service will take place at Camp Butler National Cemetery at a later date. Memorials in her memory may be given to the activity fund at Taylorville Estates. McClure Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.
