Jeremiah Micah Gunning, 30 of Taylorville, passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.  He was born on February 24, 1994, in Saginaw, Michigan.  Jeremiah was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and worked at Wendy’s.  He enjoyed spending time outdoors, fishing, playing video games and was a fan of the Detroit Lions.  More than anything, Jeremiah loved his family, and he adored being a father and papa.  

He is survived by his mother: Janet Gunning of Michigan; honorary mother: Debbie Trudeau of Kincaid; best friend: Andrea Trudeau of Kincaid; children: Jade Mendenall, Jarrett Logue, Jesse Logue, and Renee Gunning; grandchild: Brave Mendenall; brothers and sisters: Joseph Gunning of Taylorville, Tyveon Gunning of Tovey, Asia Gunning of Decatur, Australia Gunning of Michigan, and Joshua Gunning of Michigan; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.  He was preceded in death by his grandmother: Starry Jackson; grandfathers: Breeze Williams and Rene “Pops” Trudeau.  

A Funeral Mass for Jeremiah will take place at 10:00am on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Fr. Piotr Kosk officiating.  The visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00pm on Wednesday at McClure Funeral Home in Taylorville.  Burial will take place at Eiler Cemetery in Tower Hill.  Memorials may be made to the Trudeau Family.  McClure Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.
