Alexandra B. Martz-Houston, 25 of Taylorville amazing friend to all, loving daughter, wife and dog mom to Tank passed away after a long battle with cancer on June 30, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family. Alex was born on January 28, 1999 at St. Mary’s Hospital. She is the daughter of Robert and Kelly Martz of North Canton, OH. Alex graduated in August 2017 from Northern Guilford High School in Greensboro, North Carolina. She attended UNCG in North Carolina majoring in business management. Alex married Blake Houston in the eyes of God on March 16, 2024.

Alex is survived by her Husband, parents, grandparents: Donald and Judith Atkinson of Taylorville, Roger and Brenda Pond of Meredosia, aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandfather Bill Martz.

Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

In Leu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in her memory to St. Jude Research Hospital in Memphis, TN.

Isaiah 40:31 says “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not be faint.”
