Susie Reber, formerly Susie Graham, of Taylorville passed away at 4:50 pm on Friday, July 12, 2024, at her daughter Stephanie’s home surrounded by her loving family. Susie was born in Taylorville on September 17, 1955, to Joe and Elaine (Spresser) Graham, and grew up in Stonington where she graduated from Stonington High School.
Susie went on to complete nursing school and was a nurse and caregiver for most of her career. Susie loved all her patients, but Jessica Trostle held an extra special place in her heart. Susie enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and visiting with family and friends. She married Bill Reber in 1983 and he preceded her in death in 2004.
Susie is survived by her children, Billy Reber of Mascoutah, Courtney Reber of Springfield, and Stephanie (Companion David) also of Taylorville, Jason (Companion Michelle) of Springfield and her grandchildren Preston and Payson Reber of Mascoutah and Maliyah Reber of Taylorville. She is also survived by her siblings Bridgie Graham Smith (Bart) of Tacoma, Washington, Liz Ellis of Taylorville, Becky Pattarozzi (Andy) of Nokomis, Helen Linden (Ralph) of McLean, Virginia, Mike Graham (Brenda) of Stonington, and Joe Graham (Companion Drew) of Chicago. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bill Reber, her parents Joe and Elaine Graham, her grandparents, and siblings James, John, Mary Clare, and Patrick Graham.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 from 10:00-12:00 Noon at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville. Funeral Service will be held immediately following the visitation starting at 12:00 Noon at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville with Father Pitor Kosk officiating. Burial will be held in Anderson Cemetery in Palmer, IL.
In Leu of Flowers the family requests memorial contributions in Susie’s memory be made to Safe Passage C/O: Taylorville Police Department 108 W. Vine St. Taylorville, IL 62568.
Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.
