Walter William Lynn Sr., 77 of Taylorville passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at 8:53 p.m. at Springfield Memorial Hospital in Springfield, IL. He was born on June 9, 1947, in Lincoln, IL the son of Roy Leo Lynn and Lura Marie (Jarrell) McConnell. He married Sharon Harter on August 28, 1972, and they later divorced. He then married Barbara Jennings on February 14, 2014.

Walter was survived by his wife Barbara Lynn of Taylorville, Children, Mark Lynn of Riverton, IL; Walter William Lynn Jr. of Ramsey, IL and Stephan Lynn of Blue Mound, IL; Step-daughters: Anita McCurdy, Carla Klippel and Diana Walker; Grandchildren: Nathan Lynn of Blue Mound, IL; Adrian Lynn of Decatur, IL; David Durbin of Alabama; Thomas Swinson of Springfield, IL; Kimberly Mollica of Pheonix, AZ; 12 other grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; Half-Brothers, Louis McConnell of Breckenridge, IL and Ralph McConnell of Stonington, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Brother: Norman McConnell, Step-daughter Rita Rucker.

Graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville with Pastor James Jones officiating.
