Eric Cunitz, 47, of Taylorville passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2024, at 7:44 p.m. at his home in Taylorville. He was born on November 30, 1976, in Taylorville, IL the son of George and Doris Ann (Lukach) Cunitz. Eric married Kayla Durbin, and they divorced in 1995, he then married Amy Kidd and they divorced in 2021. Eric was a well-known and great Mechanic that was willing to help anyone needing help.

Eric is survived by his daughter Erica Cunitz and companion Justin Witty of Bulpitt, IL; Grandchildren: Brookelynn Cunitz, Anaiah Witty, Justin Witty Jr. Baylee Cunitz and Liam Witty; step-sons: Thomas and Andrew Foster; Brothers: Scott (Christine) Cunitz of Florida; George Cunitz II of Indiana; Aunt: Donna Dance of Taylorville; Nephews Rich (Brittany) Cunitz and Randy Cunitz; Several Cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister: Lisa Cunitz, and childhood best friends Thomas Stockdale and Jason Carr.

Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville.
