Alisa Mae Salsi, 62, of Rosamond, passed away September 6, 2024, in her home surrounded by family. She was born June 5, 1962, in Taylorville, the daughter of Earl and Mary (Eilers) Barding. Alisa Married Steve Salsi on April 7, 1990, in Rosamond Presbyterian Church.
Alisa was a Pana High School Graduate, later attending Capitol City Nursing School. She worked as a nurse at the health care center in Graham Correctional Center for 27 ½ years before she retired in 2011. Alisa was well known for her hospitality, always having her door and home open to everyone. She was a member of the Eagles in Pana. Alisa was a mother to all that met her. She was a follower of Jesus, and she loved raising and caring for her flock of chickens. Mostly, she loved and cherished her family.
Alisa is survived by her husband: Steve Salsi, Children: Jessica (Matthew) Saunders of Rosamond, and Arthur Salsi also of Rosamond, Granddaughter: Madison “Bug” Saunders of Rosamond. She is also survived by her sisters: Anita (Howard) Buoy of Herrick, Amy (Kevin) Christian of Oconee, and April Sheddon of Nokomis.
Alisa is preceded in death by her grandparents, and parents.
Per Alisa’s wishes, cremation rites are to be accorded with a Celebration of Life at the First Penecostal Church of Nokomis (219 N Oak St. Nokomis) on September 14, 2024, beginning at 4:00 P.M.
Memorials in Alisa’s honor can be made to the American Diabetes Association.
