David Joseph Cline, 69, of Drury, MO, formerly of Taylorville, IL, passed away September 28, 2024, at Ozark HealthCare in West Plains, MO. He was born June 25, 1955, in Taylorville, IL, the son of Raymond and Dorothy (Sefried) Cline. He married Marilyn Coy on February 24, 1995, in Taylorville, IL.
Surviving is his wife, Marilyn Cline of Drury, MO; their children, Chad (Hailey) Hull of Stonington, IL; Dustin Cline of Taylorville, IL; Patricia (Al) Blanford of Drury, MO; Joseph Campogni of Drury, MO; and Stephanie (Rick) Bingham of Edinburg, IL; 13 grandchildren; Braxstin, Brentley, Brantley Cline; Gauge, Colton, Remington, and Isaiah Hull; Haylei and Angel Cline; Elizabeth and Jacob Bingham; Dylan, and Dawson Blanford; 9 great-grandchildren; brother; John Cline; sister; Nancy Sims and several nieces, nephews, and cousins; brothers-in-law, Steven Funk, and J.W. Cline; and a daughter-in-law, Christie Cline.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Ric David Cline; his siblings; Judy Funk, Gary Cline, Sue (Larry) Sparling, Carolyn Clark, and Frank Cline; sister-in-law; Debbie Cline and brother-in-law; Dan Sims.
David attended Taylorville High School. Later in life, David worked for Caterpillar in Decatur, IL, as a mechanic retiring on January 17, 2022. He was a member of Brixey Rockbridge Volunteer Fire Department and EMR, UAW Local 751, and Gentryville Baptist Church in Gentryville, MO.
The family will receive family and friends at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville, IL from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 4, 2024. A funeral service will take place following visitation with Pastor Russel Beard officiating. Per David’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded following services. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for plants and donations to charity of choice as they will be traveling back to Missouri.
