Norman Paul Finfrock, 74, of Taylorville, IL, passed away on Friday, October 4, 2024 at 11:05 p.m. at Decatur Memorial Hospital in Decatur, IL.  He was born on October 2, 1950, in Effingham, IL, the son of Norman W. Finfrock and Doris Julius. He married Brenda Parks on September 14, 1974. Norm served his country proudly during the Vietnam War, serving in the Navy.  He worked for Firestone for over 30 years and after retirement he was a grounds keeper at Lake Shore Golf Course.  During his free time, he enjoyed being outside, hunting, playing golf, fishing, enjoying the weather and making his rounds around town. 

He is survived by his wife: Brenda Finfrock of Taylorville; children; Lindsey Finfrock of Effingham, IL; and Scott (Ashley) Finfrock of Decatur, IL; his grandchildren Zane Finfrock of Forysth, IL; and Alexis Finfrock of Bloomington, IL; sister: Marcia Hedrick; Brother: David (Cathy) Julius; step-siblings and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his parents and step-father: Virgil Julius. 

The family will receive family and friends at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville, IL from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Saturday, October 12, 2024.  Per Norman’s wishes, no services are planned at this time. Graveside service will be held later at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield, IL. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warriors Foundation.
