Myron Lowell McDonald

Myron Lowell “Mouse” McDonald, 77 of Taylorville, passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at Taylorville Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation.  He was born on January 18, 1947, in Taylorville, the son of Mark Twain and Helen Virginia (Longden) McDonald.  Myron served his country in the U.S. Navy.  He worked as a carpenter for over 20 years with Mike Myers Builders.  He was a talented pool player and will be remembered as a great person and a wonderful father.  Most of all he enjoyed spending time with family and friends. 

He is survived by his daughter: Andrea McDonald of Taylorville; grandchildren: Andrew McDonald of Taylorville, Wade Rochkes (Tiffany) of Ramsey, Lucas Willson (Haley) of Brownstown, and Jorie Zeal of Tempe, Arizona; 6 great grandchildren; siblings: Myrna Hauser (Joe) of Taylorville, Matthew McDonald (Mary Ann) of Taylorville, Loretta Schaper (Bill) of Napa, California, Jerry McDonald (Patricia) of Litchfield, and Gloria Vallas (Steve) of Decatur.  He was preceded in death by his parents; nephew: Daniel McDonald; and niece: Lori McDonald.

A graveside service with military honors for Myron will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at Oak Hill Cemetery with Rev. Jim Wolfe officiating. The family will host a celebration of life on November 9th. Memorials may be made to the Taylorville Public Library or the Christian County YMCA.  McClure Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.
