Jeff DeClerck, 63 of Taylorville, passed away, surrounded by his family, on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at Springfield Memorial Hospital. He was born on August 21, 1961, in Taylorville, the son of Jack and Anna Louise (Matthews) DeClerck. Jeff was a proud graduate of Edinburg High School where he enjoyed playing on the basketball team. He began his career with the Christian County Highway Department and was elected Taylorville Township Road Commissioner for several years, a job he truly enjoyed. He was a fan of the Miami Dolphins and NASCAR.
He is survived by his daughters: Courtney Puccetti (Dan) of Kincaid, Ryan McGrath (Mike) of Lisle, and Mallory DeClerck (Aaron Samson) of Taylorville; grandchildren: Colton, Cambelle, Hunter, Hudson, Henry, Domynik and Camdyn; siblings: David DeClerck, Cindy Ryan (Butch), Bobby DeClerck, Brad DeClerck, and Jacque Willison (Jack); and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters-in-law: Paula DeClerck and Cindy DeClerck.
Jeff’s body was donated to science for the study of Parkinson’s Disease. A visitation will be held from 5:00p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 18, 2024 at McClure Funeral Home in Taylorville. A memorial service will take place at 7:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research or the Edinburg High School Boys Basketball team. McClure Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.
