Jack Ray Matthews, 62, of Pana passed away Thursday, October 31, 2024 in Springfield Memorial Hospital.  He was born July 12, 1962.  He married Janice Matthews and they later divorced.   

Jack served as a combat engineer in the U.S. Army in Germany from 1979-1985 and worked a prison guard in Baltimore, MD for 12 years.  He enjoyed playing pool.

Jack is survived by his friends: Jacob Steck & James Challans.

Per Jack’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and no services are planned.

Memorials in Jack’s honor may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project and will be accepted by McCracken-Dean Funeral Home who is assisting the family.
