Richard A. Smith, 63, of Morrisonville, IL, passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at Springfield Memorial Hospital in Springfield, IL. He was born on July 7, 1961, in Taylorville, IL, to the late Keneth and Reta (Chambers) Smith.

Richard spent his entire life on the farm where he was raised, dedicating his years to working for Bloome Farms. He enjoyed driving his semi hauling grain, but above all, he loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his sisters, Karen Thompson, Donna Eson, Marsha (Sam) Ellinger, Michelle (Jerry) Luttrell; brothers, Larry Smith, Kevin (Jenny) Smith, and Randy Smith, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Keneth and Reta Smith, his brother, Gary Wayne, a brother-in-law, Richard Thompson, and several aunts and uncles.

Per Richard’s wishes, a private graveside service will be held at a later date. Memorials in his honor may be made to the Taylorville Memorial Foundation.
