Vernard Von Kinsel, 81, of Taylorville, IL, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, February 5, 2025. He was born on June 27, 1943, in Humboldt, IL, to Bert and Flossie (Kirk) Kinsel. He married the love of his life, Mary Lee (Belsher) Kinsel, on September 8, 1963, and they spent 61 happy and loving years together.  

Vernard enjoyed fishing, baseball, and gardening in his free time. Above all, he loved his family and spending time with his three grandchildren. His family is forever grateful for all the skills and knowledge he has shared with them. He will always be remembered for his generosity and his gift of giving. He was always lending a helping hand to anyone in need.

He is survived by his wife: Mary Lee Kinsel of Taylorville, IL; daughter: Angela Kinsel of Springfield, IL; grandchildren: Ashlee (Dom) Kinsel of Chicago, Addam and Aliyah of Springfield, IL; sister-in-law: Judy Kinsel; special niece: Cheryl Belsher Bond; as well as many other loving family members and his faithful fur child, Put Cat!

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Dale Kinsel and George Kinsel, a sister, Rosie Smith, and his dog Jake Kinsel.

Per the family’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded, and no services will be held at this time.
