Jerry W Turnbull, 79 of Taylorville, passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.  He was born on May 8, 1945, in Springfield, the son of George W. and Dorothy (Spain) Turnbull.  He married Sheri Kuntzman on September 2, 2003, in Taylorville.  Jerry previously worked for the City of Springfield as a civil engineer and later retired from Springfield Memorial Hospital where he worked in food service.  He enjoyed football, NASCAR racing, remote controlled cars, and working in his garden.

He is survived by his wife: Sheri Turnbull of Taylorville; children: Christine Beldon of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Melissa Browder (Charles) of Dallas, Texas, Jeremy Turnbull (Kris) of Alton, Lindsey Turnbull (Phil Tate) of Springfield; and Jerryn Turnbull of Springfield; step-children: Daniel Kuntzman of Taylorville, Patrick Hilscher (Angela) of Springfield, and Cortland Hilscher of Auburn; 23 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; siblings: Joyce Weed of Springfield and Tom Turnbull (Pat) of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister: Joanne Ramirez.

Mr. Turnbull will be cremated, and his family will host a celebration of life at a later date.  McClure Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.
