Patricia Oats, 79 of Taylorville, passed away January 23, 2025 in Joliet, IL. She was born July 26, 1945 in Taylorville, the daughter of Carl Tucker Sr. and Bernadine Tucker (Durbin). She married Delmar W. Oats on April 6, 1966, he preceded her in death March 29, 2017.

She worked for Sangamon Paper Company mostly but did some home care work at the end of her working life.  Patricia’s real passion was making flower bouquets and wreaths for family and friends.

Patricia is survived by her children: Rickey Oats (Kristine) and Cynthia Penkala (Thomas); grandchildren: Nikki Stone, Kourtneigh Clay, Patrick Penkala and Kaleb Oats; great-grandchildren: Jayden, Jayce, Ryker, Ryland, Riggs, Annistyn, Colton and Banks; siblings: Kay Cole, Hilda Pounds, Kathy Sim, Carl Tucker and Tom Tucker in addition several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister June Crawford and brothers Orville and Pearl Tucker.

A memorial mass will take place at 10:30 on Saturday, March 1 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Taylorville. The visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30 prior to the mass in the church. Burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville followed by dinner at 12:00 at the K of C Hall.
