Forest River King, infant son of Staci and Dakota King, passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at Taylorville Memorial Hospital.  He was born on January 4, 2025, in Springfield.  Forest was a beautiful boy who filled his parents’ hearts with such joy.  He was a perfect piece of the family and was loved and cherished by everyone who surrounded him. 

He is survived by his parents: Staci and Dakota King of Stonington; sisters: Farah and Vaida King; paternal grandparents: Paul and Darlene King of Taylorville; maternal grandmother: Tammy Scott(partner Mark Coffey), maternal grandfather: Robert Scott, all of Taylorville; paternal great grandmother: Sheila Dudra; aunts and uncles: Paul King, Lacey & Randy Jones, Zach King (Vanessa Clark), Bobby Scott (Amber Pearce), and April & Dee Owens; cousins: Harper Scott, Allyson Scott, Jaclyn Scott, Michael Scott, Madison King, Laila King, Annalise King, Lily Jones, Nora Jones, Pearce Scott, Thea Jones, Isabella King, and Sammy King; and several extended family members.  He was preceded in death by his brother: Leo James King; maternal great grandmother: Donna Franklin, maternal great grandmother: Wanita Durbin, paternal great grandparents: Quinten & Mary King; and maternal great grandfather: Robert Scott Sr.

A funeral service for Forest will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, February 17, 2025, at McClure Funeral Home in Taylorville with Pastor James Jones officiating.  The visitation will take place from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the King family. McClure Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.
