Ms. Carol Yvonne Kerwin, 89, of Taylorville, IL, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at 3:00 a.m. at Taylorville Care Center. She was born on March 18, 1935, in Taylorville, the daughter of Frank Bernard and Juanita Jeanette (Hawkins) Phillips. On December 27, 1953, she married William Daniel Kerwin, and he preceded her in death on July 14, 2004.

Carol worked in home health care for many years before her retirement. She loved being a homemaker and caring for her family. She was an active member of the Kincaid Church of God and was strong in her faith. Carol will forever be remembered as a kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend and she is missed dearly.

Surviving is her daughter: Sharon McQuire of Taylorville, IL; son: Steve (Sandy) Kerwin of Taylorville, IL; grandchildren: Lori (Kraig) Ryan of Blue Mound, IL; Sam Bethard of Morrisonville, IL; Deetta Nunnaley; great-grandchildren: Garrett and Griffin Ryan; Alexis Millburg; Maraih Blanford; Landon Bethard; sister: Rose Phillips Black of Kincaid, IL; sister-in-law: Barbara Phillips of Decatur, IL; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents: Frank and Juanita Phillips; her husband: William Kerwin; daughters: Sally Hathaway and Sarah Kerwin; siblings: David Phillips, Daniel Phillips, James Phillips, and Judith Halcom.

Graveside service will be held on Monday, February 24, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville with Pastor Vance Massengill officiating.

Memorials may be made to the Kincaid Church of God.
