Marcia L. Frisina

Marcia L. Frisina, 86 of Taylorville, passed away on February 24, 2025, in Taylorville.  She was born on June 11, 1938, in Pana, the daughter of George and Boneva (White) Tanner.  She married James Frisina Jr. on April 21, 1977, in Taylorville and he preceded her in death on November 4, 2023.  Marcia graduated from Pana High School and went on to attend MacMurray College before graduating from Illinois Wesleyan.  From her Jr. High years through college, she enjoyed participating as a cheerleader.  While at Illinois Weslyn University she was a member of the Kappa Delta Sorority and was selected as a candidate for Homecoming Queen.  Marcia worked for many years as an elementary school teacher.  In their retirement years, Jim and Marcia moved to Diamondhead, Mississippi, where they enjoyed many years together.  While living in Diamondhead, they were crowned King and Queen of Krewe of Boaters and Krewe of Diamondhead — an honor that highlighted their captivating personalities and ability to bring people together.  Marica will be remembered for her vibrant personality; she was always the life of the party. Marcia will be missed by her beloved pets, Minnie and Pearl.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sister: Sally Ryan.

Marcia will be cremated, and a memorial service will be held at a later date.  Inurnment will take place in Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield.  McClure Funeral Home and Cremation Services is assisting the family with arrangements.
