Joyce C Braner, 78 of Taylorville, passed away in her home on Wednesday, February 26, 2025.  She was born on January 14, 1947, in Waukegan, the daughter of Marvin and Eileen (Ostermeier) Shaefer.  She married Bradley D. Braner on September 11, 1983, at Great Lakes Naval Station, North Chicago.  Joyce worked as a licensed practical nurse.  She enjoyed horseback riding and snowmobiling.  More than anything she loved her family, especially her grandchildren. 

She is survived by her husband: Bradley Braner of Taylorville; children: Michelle M. Bittner (David) of Grayslake, Jacqueline Marie Frahm (Stan) of Salem, Wisconsin, and Kenneth Jon Murphy (Becky) of Taylorville; step son: Richard Braner (Shanna) of Springfield; grandchildren: Nicole Bittner, Kyle Bittner, Breanna Bittner, Denver Frahm, Logan Frahm, and Kelsi Murphy.; step-grandchildren: Jacob Braner, Jalee Braner, Jaydon Braner, Dallas Braner, Rylee Braner, and John Wesley Braner II; great grandchildren: Lily, Daisy, Nova, Paislee, and Everly; brother: Marvin J. Schaefer (Darlene) of Libertyville; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog Pepper.  She was preceded in death by her parents and sister: Donna Schultz and her husband Dennis.

Joyce will be cremated, and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date.  Inurnment will take place in the Edinburg Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Christian County Animal Control. McClure Funeral Home and Cremation Services is assisting the family with arrangements.
