Susan L. “Sue” Hogge, 61 of Taylorville, passed away on Friday, February 28, 2025, in her home. She was born on March 30, 1963, in Taylorville, the daughter of Jerry and Jody (O’Bryan) Hogge. Sue previously worked as an LPN and for the last several years she worked as a rural mail carrier. She enjoyed collecting rocks and was a member of the Lincoln Orbit Earth Society and enjoyed helping teach children about rocks and fossils during the club’s annual show. Sue had a very generous heart and was always willing to help out anyone in need. More than anything she loved her family; she took her nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews on countless trips.
She is survived by her parents: Jody Hogge and Jerry Hogge; siblings: Brett Hogge (Erin), Scott Hogge (Jenny), Margaret Chester, Mary Stephens, Nancy Rickman, and Alicia Renner all of Taylorville; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Dave and Edwina O’Bryan and Jack and Belva Hogge; brothers-in-law: Gregg Stephens, Jim Renner, and Gaylord Chester; and niece: Breanna Hogge.
Sue will be cremated, and her family will host a celebration of life from noon until 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 9th, at the Moose Lodge, 720 McAdam Dr., Taylorville. Memorial donations in her memory may be made to Kemmerer Village in Assumption. McClure Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.
