Doris T. Stroh, 97 of Taylorville, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at Pana Health & Rehabilitation Center.  She was born on October 15, 1927, in Taylorville, the daughter of Howard M. and Texanna E. (Estes) Phares.  She married John E. “Jack” Stroh on October 18, 1947, in Taylorville and he preceded her in death on July 18, 2000.  Doris was a member of the Taylorville First United Methodist Church.  She enjoyed being active with the Christian County Senior Center and spending time with her widows group sharing dinner together every Wednesday.  She enjoyed spending time around her pool, taking drives, and vacations.  Doris looked forward to shopping trips to Decatur and dinner with friends.  She was a lover of animals, especially the many cats she cared for over the years. 

She is survived by her granddaughter: Holly Stroh-Lomprez of Taylorville; and great grandchildren: Travis Lomprez (Shaina Snyder, and her daughter Ava), and Kimberly Lomprez and her son Trey Donaldson.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and son: David Stroh.

A graveside service for Doris will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville with Pastor Sheryl Van Dyke officiating.  Memorials may be made to the Christian County Senior Center or Chrisitan County Animal Control.  McClure Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.
