David L. Prasun

David L. Prasun, 74 of Taylorville, passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at Taylorville Memorial Hospital.  He was born on April 29, 1950, the son of Leo and Bernadine (Lane) Prasun.  He married Vickie Yeaman on December 12, 1970, in Edinburg.  David graduated from Taylorville High School in 1968.  He went on to proudly serve his country in the U.S. Navy from 1970 until 1973.  He was a life member and Past Commander of Amvets Post 29 in Taylorville.  David was a jack of all trades and could master anything he set his mind to.  Throughout the years he worked in various jobs including grain bin and metal building construction, heavy equipment operator, truck driver, farming and small engine repair.  David was a talented carpenter and was well known for his large gardens that he proudly planted each year.  He enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, and loved football. 

He is survived by his wife: Vickie Prasun; children: Suzie Mollet (Tom), David Prasun (Jenny), and Sally Prasun (fiancé Butch Fulk); grandchildren: Kylie Badman (fiancé Dalton Brooks), Tuff Prasun, Kailyn Fulk, Paige Mollet, Tanner Mollet, Tommy Mollet (Alexis), Morgan Mollet, Merisha Trelz (Kelen); great grandchildren: Walker Trelz, Emery Brooks, Landon Hansen; siblings: Diana Hunt (companion Gary Manuel),  Terry Prasun (Judy), Penny Hamell (Randy), Annette Wicker, Linda Prasun, and Roger Prasun; sister-in-law: Carrie Prasun; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers: Bradley Prasun and Jeffrey Prasun.

A visitation for David will take place from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 16, 2025, at McClure Funeral Home in Taylorville.  Cremation rites will be conducted following the visitation and a private family graveside service will take place at a later date at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.  Memorial donations may be made to the Taylorville FFA Alumni Association.  McClure Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.
