Keith Carroll Coffey

Keith Carroll Coffey, 74, formerly of Taylorville passed away on February 25, 2025 in the VA Alvin York Medical Center in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He was born on January 24, 1951 to Hugh R and Ellen (Baillie) Coffey.

He graduated from Taylorville High School in 1969. After high school he enlisted in the Army from 1970-73. While in the Army he learned his skills in the Radiology field. After discharge from the Army, he would make his home in Tennessee. There he worked in several hospitals. Until retiring for health reasons.

Keith enjoyed spending time with one of his older brothers Rolland and sister-in-law Ima who lived in Tennessee as well. The one thing Keith cherished the most was being with his many siblings and his mother. Keith was a fun uncle and never met a stranger. He made many friends. Keith and his friend James would share a life together until James passed away. He then moved out to the Promise Land Farm in Charlotte, Tennessee where he would enjoy country life with friends Don, Chris, Jimmy and their kids Logan, Nikki, Caroline and AnneBelle. All whom he loved dearly. Keith enjoyed gardening and taking care of his animals. He was a very kind, caring and funny person. He will be missed. Rest in peace.

Surviving are siblings: sisters: Janet Branyan Decatur, IL,  Carolyn Scroggins Cape Coral, FL,  Diana (Pat Ratliff) Grobosky Kincaid, IL,  Becky Smith Lincoln, IL, Barb (Don) Vespa Wichita, KS, Melissa (Kevin) Mariconi Taylorville, IL and brothers: Paul (Brenda) Coffey Blue Mound, IL, Melvin (Barb) Coffey Fort Mill, SC, Nathan (Cathy) Coffey Decatur, IL and Richard (Jamie) Coffey Alpa, IL. As well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Rolland, sister Mary Louise, friends James and Don, sister-in-law Ima, brothers-in-law Dick, Stanley, Ray, Bill S. and Bill R.

Military honors and a memorial service will be March 31, 2025 at 11:00 where he will be laid to rest at the Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery in Nashville, Tennessee.
