Mary B. Smith, 95 of Taylorville passed away on Friday, March 21, 2025, at 11:47 p.m. at her daughter’s home in Taylorville. She was born on December 25, 1929, in Pontiac, IL, the daughter of Raymond P. and Marcella (Fitzgerald) Wilkins. She married Myrvle Smith on December 8, 1976, in Arizona and he preceded her in death on December 8, 1992. Mary was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Taylorville and the Red Hat Club.

Mary is survived by her children: Raymond (Cinthya) South of Taylorville, IL; Barbara Sims of Taylorville, IL; William (Jennifer) South of Missouri; Carol Stewart of Morrisonville, IL; ten grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Granddaughter: Vickie Stewart; two Grandchildren in infancy Matteo Sims and Faith Sims Sams; Sons-in-Law: Allen Sims and Jim Stewart; Step-Sons: Dale and Shorty Smith and Sister: Doris Wilkins Hendricks.    

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville. Funeral service will begin immediately following the visitation starting at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Shane Sims officiating. Burial will be held in Morrisonville Cemetery in Morrisonville.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
