Jeffrey Lynn Thomason, 75, of Taylorville, IL, passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at Taylorville Memorial Hospital. He was born on March 3, 1950, the son of Pearl and Wilma (Batton) Thomason. He married Martha Elaine Davis in Taylorville, and she survives.

 

Jeff served in the Army and later worked at Intermet Wagner Castings in Decatur, IL, as a foreman. Then he later went to work for the Taylorville School District as a custodian until his retirement. He loved watching sports, spending time outdoors, and loved watching storms outside on his porch. Above all, he loved spending time with his family.

 

He is survived by his wife: Martha Elaine Thomason of Taylorville, IL; daughters: Tara (Alexa) Faries of St. Charles, MO; Cara Belsher of Taylorville, IL; Danielle (Michael) Schneider of Nokomis, IL; sons: Travis Thomason of Bethalto, IL; Adam (Shayna) Thomason of Chicago, IL; several grandchildren; a brother: George (Vera) Thomason of Stonington, IL; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pearl and Wilma Thomason, and siblings, Doris, Paul, Jack, Sheila, and Pat.

 

Per Jeff’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded, and no services will be held at this time. A graveside service will be held at a later date at Anderson Cemetery in Palmer, IL.
