Norman Lee Moses, 90, entered eternal rest at his home in Palmer, Illinois on April 18th, 2025.
He was born on April 12th, 1935 in Palmer, Illinois, the last of 13 children to Guy Elmer & Nina Ellen (Ginger) Moses. Norman was a farmer with an ability for designing and creating inventions. Many of his ideas were sprawled on napkins and finished in his workshop on the family farm. He was a great welder and an even better man. He served for 8 years in the Army Reserves. Norman was always willing to help someone in need and was a proud man of faith. He was raised in the Community of Christ Church on Elm Street, which later moved to Bidwell Street, where he was a pastor and elder for many years.
Norman married Diane Parrish in 1961 and had two children, Brian Moses and Pamela Moses, all of whom survive him. Norman later married Judith Moses, his wife of almost 29 years, who also survives him. With Judy, Norman gained 3 more children, Christina (Brent) Becker, Michael (Sherri) Kendle, and Russell (Wendy) Kendle. Norman was well known for being a family man. He, along with all of his siblings, were dedicated to keeping their family in close touch with each other. Their tradition of an annual family reunion every year will be carried on by his surviving family members. His surviving grandchildren include Ira Moses, Paige (Zach) Hendrickson, Tyler (Justin Ledford) Frump, Brent (Lexi) Frump, Jared Becker, Tiffany Cherry, Jeremy (Desiree) Becker, Sarah (Tim) Wilks, Bradlee (Danielle) Kendle, Kirk (Stephanie) Kendle, Juleea Walker, Sydney (Curtis) Yount, Colin Kendle & Casey Kendle. He is also survived by many great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, and several extended family members that he loved dearly.
Norman was preceded in death by his parents; his 12 siblings - brothers: John, Elmer, Gomer, LeRoy, Arnold, Rex & Tom Moses; and sisters: Vivian Oller, Clara Hill, Maude Lambert, Mabel Baker & Lila Brooner; a daughter, Deborah Ann Moses, and son Michael Kendle.
Norman was appreciative of those who attended his 90th birthday party. A visitation will be held for one hour prior to the funeral service which will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday April 22nd, 2025 at the Community of Christ Church in Taylorville. Burial will follow at Mound Chapel Cemetery in Johnson Township. The family invites you to join them for a luncheon at the Community of Christ Church immediately following the burial. In lieu of flowers, memorials to be made to the Community of Christ Church, 321 East Bidwell, Taylorville, IL 62568. Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.
