William “Bill” L. Boyd, 85 of Taylorville passed away on Friday, April 18, 2025, at Taylorville Memorial Hospital in Taylorville. He was born on September 4, 1939, in Taylorville IL, the son of Leslie N. and Frances “Babe” M. (Stahulak) Boyd. He married Sandra Mills on September 1, 1972, in Taylorville, IL. Bill graduated from Taylorville High School, and he attended Millikin University. He was a well-known businessman owning Boyd Builders, Sandy’s Dress Shop, Boyd Redi-Mix, and Boyd Auto Sales. He was happiest when he was working.   

Bill is survived by his wife Sandy Boyd of Taylorville, IL; children: Leslie Klocek of Taylorville, IL; Jo Anna Griffiths of Taylorville, IL; Michael (Julie) Boyd of Indiana; Michelle DeClerck of Springfield, IL; Mandy (Chris) Owens of Bloomington, IL; grandchildren: Zach, Samantha, Ryan, Noah, Dustin, Sasha, Jourdan, Riley, Raimey, Reagan; seven great grandchildren; sister-in-law: Joy Boyd and nephew: Richard Boyd. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Richard and James Boyd and mother-in-law: Elaine Molen .    

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Shafer, Perfetti and Assalley Funeral Home in Taylorville, IL. There will be no services, and inurnment will be held at a later date.
